New Music We Crush #3: Dianas – Leave Love

Okay, you got me, Leave Love isn’t necessarily ‘new’ – more newish. But the video for this bad boy came out semi-recently (March) and really I needed an excuse to write about Dianas. I just want the Dianas to love me as much as I love them. Okay now I’ve made it awkward lets move on.

Firstly, the Leave Love video is perfect. The red tracksuit uniform, the dance moves, the scenery. Amazing. Now, Leave Love sonically, that’s a whole other perfection. Dreamy guitar noise (there seems to be a theme to what I’m listening too lately), ascending vocal harmonies and a symphony of raw energies. Leave Love is off the EP of the same name – released December last year, which is a magical listen from start to finish. Intro – is the roughest cut on the album, and not in a bad way. Less harmonical and ethereal, its fun, loud, drum heavy, rock candy and it’s delicious. Heart of Me is a honey dipped aural fixation, with a slight melancholia hidden between bright guitars and edges of pop.

Every time I listen to the EP a different song becomes my favourite. This listen it’s maybe Someone Else. But really the whole thing is perfect. I can’t keep writing an explanation of each song as being perfect and harmonical, just believe me they are, so stop reading this and go listen yourself. Thank me later. Thank the Dianas forever.

You can catch them playing with Suss Cunts at their EP Launch on June 8th at The Tote. They’ll be joined by Summer Flake, Eat-Man and Scratch Match. It’s actually a insanely good lineup so if you leave your house that night, make it for this.
